Trade Statistics
The Mainland of China, the United States of America and Germany were the top three leading exporters in world merchandise trade in 2023, with the exports values of US$3,380 billion, US$2,020 billion and US$1,688 billion respectively. Their corresponding shares in world total exports were 14.2%, 8.5% and 7.1%.
The Netherlands ranked the fourth in world exports (accounting for 3.9%) and Japan ranked the fifth (at 3.0%) in the same year. This was followed by Italy (at 2.8%), France and Korea (both at 2.7%), Mexico (at 2.5%), Hong Kong#, Canada and Belgium (all three at 2.4%), the United Kingdom (at 2.2%), United Arab Emirates^ (at 2.1%) and Singapore# (at 2.0%).
In 2023, Hong Kong ranked the fourth largest exporters after the Mainland, Japan and Korea in the region. The exports value of Hong Kong was US$574 billion, accounting for 2.4% of world total exports at US$23,784 billion.
