The Mainland of China : Notice Concerning the Exemption of Value-added Tax on
Imports of Copper for the parts Containing Gold
The General Adminstration of Customs has recently issued a notice on the exemption of value-added tax on imports of coarse copper for the parts having gold value, while the parts having no gold value are still subject to value-added tax. According to the notice, the exemption of the value-added tax concerned applies only to the spindle shaped unrefined copper under Mainland tariff code 74020000. A copy of the notice, which has taken effect on 1 November 2009, is attached at Annex (pdf format) for reference.
