Commercial Information Circular No. 405/2023

European Union (EU)* : Result of expiry review of the anti-dumping measure on okoumé plywood originating in the Mainland of China

Further to the Commercial Information Circular No. 294/2022 of 6 April 2022, the European Commission published an Implementing Regulation (EU) 2023/1159 on 14 June 2023 to impose a definitive anti-dumping duty on imports of okoumé plywood originating in the Mainland of China following the expiry review. 2.Salient points of the regulation are set out below -

(a) Product : Okoumé plywood, defined as plywood consisting solely of sheets of wood, each ply not exceeding 6 mm thickness, with at least one outer ply of okoumé not coated by a permanent film of other materials, currently falling under CN code ex 4412 31 10 (TARIC code 4412 31 10 10) and originating in the Mainland of China
(b) Rate of duty : 66.7% of the net, free-at-Union-frontier price before duty (except for a number of companies with individual duty rates from 6.5% to 23.5%)
(c) Effective date : 15 June 2023

The Division is responsible for, among others, guiding and coordinating enterprises in Guangdong Province in responding to anti-dumping investigations against products from the province.
